Problem solving. Unit 7

Duties at home
Whenever there's something to do at home,  many people run away of their duties.
For instance,  It is quite common to listen to your brothers and sisters distributing or exchanging the respectives things they must do.
You will hear them say things, such as:
-I need to get my bedroom cleaned. If you do it for me, I will do the dishes for you tomorrow.

This duties exchange culture is becoming a very common issue in homes, where parents have to force or tell their children again and again what he/she ought to do.
That's kind of tiring for both sides. But the fact is that there will always be an easy way to have someone fix the leaking faucet or replace the the batteries of a stopped clock. And there's not an easy way there will be someone willing to receive some extra money in exchange.
So, if you are tired or not willing to do something, you know what you should do in order to do it.

Strange events. Unit 6

On July 11, 1991, a wave of unexplained UFO sightings occurred over Mexico City. The events were witnessed by thousands of people and investigated by the Mexican government. Coincidentally, the UFOs were seen during a total solar eclipse. During the eclipse, people in Mexico City reported a large metallic disk in the sky. The object was videotaped by multiple people and broadcast on the news.
The event was one of the first widely reported UFO sightings in Mexico City, and since that time, the area has become a hotbed of unexplained activity. The connections between the solar eclipse and the UFOs have caused some to speculate that the aircraft were predicted by the Dresden Codex of the Maya calendar.

The calendar identifies the July 11 eclipse as the Sixth Sun of Quetzalcoatl and says it will bring about changes and cosmic awareness. In 2010, a story appeared on the Internet that suggested the United States was keeping the events of July 11, 1991 hidden from the public. It also suggested that the US government was fighting a secret war against aliens near the continent of Antarctica.

The legal drinking age in the Dominican Republic-Book 4 unit 5

Book 4 unit 5

Now that Christmas is arriving in our country it´s a good idea to remember who should drink alcohol and who shouldn´t.

The legal drinking age in the Dominican Republic is 18 years old. However, like in most South American countries, it’s not strictly enforced, at least in certain parts. Some anecdotal reports suggest that people as young as 14 to 16 can get away with purchasing and consuming alcohol. A lot of countries in the Caribbean could care less about your age, if you show them that hard cash, or that’s at least what some anecdotal reports suggest. One teenager who had been to the country, who was 16 years old, said that he stayed at an all-inclusive resort, and that he was trashed every single day. Another person said that you can drink in a bar as long as you’re 16 years old and with someone who’s over the age of 18. One person said that they’ll certainly serve you alcohol, even if you’re under the legal age, as long as you’re not behaving like an idiot.

A lot of the all-inclusive resorts in the Dominican Republic make you wear bracelets so that the bartenders can know what age you are. If you have an adult bracelet, and it shows you’re over the age of 18, then bartenders will have no problem serving you. Just have common sense and don’t act like a fool, and you’ll continue to get served and get the alcohol that you need to have a great time in the Dominican Republic. If you’re with your parents and traveling there, you may be able to get the drinks that you want if your parents consent to letting you drink. If you’re over the age of 16 years old, and you’re with a parent and you’re supervised, you’ll be able to drink. Chances are, if you’re 16 years old, and on a resort in the Dominican Republic, then you’re probably with your parents anyway. Just ask them if you can drink, and they might say. Remember, letting kids drink a little when they’re young can help stave off major drinking problems when they get older. Sometimes, parents will let their kids drink when they’re on a vacation, and they won’t let them drink when they get back home. Your parents might let you do it just because you’re all out on a vacation and away from the normal parts of everyday life back at home.
